Palindromes
A palindrome is a word, phrase or sentence that reads the same right to left as it does left to right. Palindromic words can sometimes be formed from verbs, by adding -s to form the third-person present tense (as in see to sees) or by adding -d to form the past tense (as in deke to deked). Phrases and sentences, on the other hand, often fail to make any sense whatsoever, but they often have a certain poetic beauty all their own. By the way, "palindrome" comes from the Greek palindromos, which means "running back again" (which, in itself, is derived from palin ("again") + drom-, from dramein, "to run").Words
